In our busy and often hectic world, consciously seeking ways to relax is essential to stay well-balanced. The question is: how do you do that? We ask experts to share their tips & tricks with us.
Meet Céline Gidding, a speech therapist who specialized as a voice therapist. In her practice, Studio Stemming, her clients benefit greatly from the use of moonbird to support their sessions.
How does Céline make sure she sufficiently relaxes in her life? Here she shares her insights and tips.
Moonbird is something tangible that reminds you to do breathing exercises, while it also works supporting and stimulating.
“It’s in those moments that I notice I am less capable of thinking clearly, I have less motivation to work and I am also less focused at work. Then I know that I’m in need of a little extra relaxation.
In severe cases, I can no longer see the wood for the trees. After enjoying a moment of downtime, this feeling is suddenly becoming a lot lighter. After a very busy week full of appointments and work in the evenings, I know that during the weekend I should spend an evening at home on the sofa watching Netflix.”
“Everything I can do to relax during busy times I see as an investment. I can get relaxation from various activities. Sometimes I really need an evening alone on the sofa watching Netflix, and other times I want to walk for 10 kilometers or spend an evening with friends.
I like to walk through the forest with a nice lunch as the end goal, I participate in online breathwork sessions and meditations and I often plan a wonderful self-care evening with for example a foot bath and a facemask. I have made an agreement with myself that I undertake at least one of these activities every week as an investment in myself, in order to be able to deliver quality as a healthcare professional, and as a person.”
I am more consciously learning to use my breathing exercises as moments of relaxation, it’s an investment in myself.
“Now that I've started practicing breathing with moonbird, I realize how hard it actually is. Hard to make time, hard to always get yourself to it, and hard to persevere when it doesn't quite work out as you would like it to. Now I know what I'm asking from my patients when I send them home with breathing exercises.
I am more consciously learning to use my breathing exercises as moments of relaxation. It's a process of awareness and an investment in myself.”
“How and when I make use of moonbird varies. I take it in my hand when I feel it's necessary. For example, when I’m busy or overloaded with work.”
“When I use moonbird, I actually take a moment to sit or lie down so I become more aware of my breathing. Moonbird is something tangible that reminds me of doing my breathing exercises, and it also supports and motivates me.”
"The sun is rising again."
