Moonbird is a handheld breathing coach. It expands and contracts in your hand, and you breathe with it: in as it expands, out as it contracts. You can use it screen-free, or pair it with the app to see how your body responds. The app shows your heart rate and heart rate variability changing in real time as you breathe.
No. The device works on its own as a tactile coach. The app adds real-time biofeedback, Aura coaching, insights, and wearable integrations with Oura, Apple Health, and Google Health. The basic version of the app is included with your device. Premium, with Aura and advanced insights, is available as a monthly or yearly subscription.
Aura is the AI breathwork coach inside the new moonbird app. Before each session, she asks how you’re doing, in your own words, and builds the session around your answer. During the session, she adapts. If your moonbird device is connected, she reads your pulse in real time: if your heart rate isn’t dropping she slows the pace, if you’re settling quickly she goes deeper. Afterward, she remembers what worked, so each session builds on the last. Aura is part of the premium version of the app.
The moonbird app has two tiers.
  • The basic version comes with your device: a library of breathing exercises, exercise customization with your moonbird, wearable integrations, and basic insights into your session data and trends. No subscription needed.
  • Premium unlocks personalization: Aura, your AI breathwork coach; your personalized breathing pace, found over a 7-day onboarding and refined every session; and advanced insights like detailed HRV breakdowns, breath-heart synchrony, and recovery scores. Premium starts with a 7-day free trial, then auto-renews to a monthly or yearly plan.
Moonbuddy is a cuddly breathing companion for children. It rises and falls like a calm belly, so kids naturally follow its rhythm. Your child holds it, breathes along, and their nervous system settles. It offers four breathing rhythms, with pediatrician-informed pacing, no lights, no alarms, and no app required. Same idea as moonbird, shaped like a friend.
Moonbird is for adults who want to sleep better, feel less stressed, or relax more easily. Moonbuddy is for children who find it hard to calm down at bedtime. Therapists and clinicians also use moonbird alongside cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and it’s used in hospitals and schools, where studies have shown benefits for relaxation, emotional regulation, and sleep (Pleumeekers, E., 2024).
