In our busy and often hectic world, consciously seeking ways to relax is essential to stay well-balanced. The question is: how do you do that? Gilles Grosemans, moonbird’s production and supply chain manager shares his tips and insights.
In moments of stress, overstimulation or frustration, I know that breathing consciously and calmly is one of the best tools I always have available.
“I am production and supply chain manager at moonbird and I have a master's degree in Finance from the KUL. I am sociable, motivated, and pragmatic, people tell me. In my spare time I like to do sports (padel, squash, mountain biking,...), I like to travel to explore the world or you can find me in a cozy cafe with a beer in hand.”
“I love that my range of tasks is so diverse. New challenges present themselves every day, which ensures that I can always keep myself busy with various things and my job never bores.
Because we are still with a relatively small team, the result of every finished project or problem solved is highly visible. This motivates me to keep working so I can genuinely help people. Because, at the end of the day, that’s the reason why I’m here.”
“Fortunately, I can easily put things into perspective. When I notice this is getting harder, and I get frustrated faster than usual, I know I need to slow down.”
“Sports work best for me, such as mountain biking, squash, or running. This way I can completely clear my head. Meeting up with friends and doing something that takes the focus of my mind (read: enjoying a pint together) always helps as well.”
Taking a moment for myself to focus on my breathing can also work wonders. In moments of stress, overstimulation or frustration, I know that breathing consciously and calmly is one of the best tools I always have available. I then take a break for a few minutes or lean back in my office chair to put everything back into perspective.”
“Live life for the moment, because everything else is uncertain.”
