Where breathing practice fits

Menopause can bring worry, broken sleep and hot flashes. Here is what research says about breathing exercises for each.

Anxious moments

Breathing exercises may help ease stress and anxiety. Studies in adults show small benefits. They were not just studies of women going through menopause. Results vary.

moonbird gives you a movement to breathe along with. You do not have to count.

Winding down for sleep

A 2026 review looked at studies of slow breathing before bed. People said they slept better. Sleep recorded by devices did not show a clear benefit.

Coping with a hot flash

Menopause guidance includes steady breathing as one way to relax during a hot flash. Studies have not shown that breathing exercises reduce hot flashes.

What this evidence can tell us

These sources look at breathing exercises or a talking therapy called CBT. They do not test moonbird as a menopause treatment. CBT teaches several ways to cope with symptoms. We cannot say that breathing alone explains its benefits.

In a study of 218 women, steady breathing did not meaningfully improve menopause symptoms. Another study followed 400 adults. Slow breathing worked no better than guided breathing at a normal pace. Breathing exercises may help some people. No pace or device can promise a result.

What the research found

These studies looked at sleep and heartbeats in moonbird users. They do not show whether moonbird helps menopause symptoms. HRV means the small changes in time between heartbeats.

The 37% figure is from one part of a sleep questionnaire. The study had no comparison group. Some authors worked with moonbird. The Oura study (August 2026) looked for patterns in user data. It cannot prove that moonbird caused the changes. Time asleep and sleep stages did not change. Results vary from person to person. Explore the research
